I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury in "98". I am what is considered a higher functioning TBI person. I guess it’s because I don't have the noticeable physical signs of my injury. But I do suffer headaches 24/7. On a scale from 1-10 my normal day is a 3-4. If I stress out, well 1,000,000 is what it feels like. I am in hopes that I can stop taking the two different meds for my headaches twice a day everyday as I do now.

But the personality impairments, such as mood, sleep, anxiety, depression -- well in a nut shell, psychological symptoms play a prominent role in the headaches, I believe. So in the use, I have found relief in the Alpha-Stim.

I first used one at the VA Hospital in Tuskegee Alabama, under the supervision of Dr. William Booth, Spinal Injury Clinic, on an outpatient setting. I noticed a difference in my headache, mood as well as sleep, after the first use, for a day or so. It surprised the H E double hockey sticks out of me. It was the first time there was something that made a noticeable difference in my agonizing days of pain. From that time, I felt as if I needed this in a more personal setting, and more than just once or twice every couple of weeks.

I had stopped at the VA in Milwaukee WI on my way to Minneapolis MN to learn more about my TBI. I ended up staying there, and getting in the Pain Clinic. While in the Pain Clinic I spoke to Dr. Jill Klayman about your device. She had never heard of it. I went as far as to have information sent to her of your device. I did see her once before I left, and she said she had received the info, and knew it must have been me. But she hadn't had time to go through it, at that time. Personally I think highly of your product. The price at the time was a bit two much for me.

Finally the VA here thanks to the determination of your salesman. We (veterans) here have a chance to live a better more productive everyday life. I know my head injury will always be with me. But at least with your product it can be bearable.

I have been using the Alpha-Stim for one month, and it has greatly improved my health. I am using this product to help with depression, anxiety and insomnia. I am 55 years old, and work as a computer professional in a demanding role.

On the first treatment, I noticed a heightened awareness immediately, which lasted several hours after the treatment. After the first week, I could tell I had increased awareness all day. My mood was more stable, and I could easily cope with problems and emergencies. I was better able to handle multiple simultaneous events.

My collateral thinking improved after just a week, which is something I have never been good at. I could make good guesses with only a small amount of information, and it was natural, not contrived in any way. There was no strain or deductive process - it just happened. This coincided with me starting conversations in public places with people I did not know, just to chat. I normally never did that.

After 2 weeks, I saw a big improvement in my mood and cognitive abilities. I can more quickly identify the central issue when problems arose at work. My wife asked me to write a little note about my use of the Alpha-Stim.

After a vicious dog attack last summer, I developed CRPS/RSD. The pain in my hand progressively increased until I could no longer do everyday normal things. My skin got bluish, cold and clammy, the nails brittle and the slightest contact with anything really hurt bad. With CRPS/RSD comes a long road of treatment and therapy. In addition to nerve blocks and medication, it was recommended that I use a unit such as an Alpha Stim.

As a small business owner, with 22 employees, I do not have the option of taking disability. I started to use the unit in December 2007. I get daily relief from the pain and four months later my condition is improving, thanks in part to Alpha Stim. It gets me through my day!

I am in my mid forties and for 2 years ago I have been battling a muscle spasm condition in my back. Drugs did not help or the ones that did just knocked me flat out, doctor after doctor could not figure it out. Nothing helped. I could only sleep 3 hours at a time waking up twisted like a pretzel, could not sit on most restaurant chairs, bought a new expensive car with a seat I could manage to stay on for 30 minutes, could not fly on airplanes, could no longer scuba dive (my favorite sport) etc…Hell.

Then I was sent to try physical therapy. The therapist explained to me that the signal from the brain to the muscles that tells them to go into spasms has to be stopped. It is very hard for the brain and muscles to “unlearn” these patterns. He taught me some daily stretches, some strengthening exercises, ordered me to walk 30 minutes per day and started electromedical treatments. It worked!

I purchased my unit last year and it has saved my life. Literally. I am in the productive years of my life and could not imagine trying to function with the drugs that I was originally prescribed. No one could. The Alpha-Stim allowed me to get back to absolutely normal. I now have to use it perhaps once a month if I am bad and overdo the yard work!

I don’t mind, there was a time when I thought that I would never do any gardening ever again.

I wish that every physician could be educated on this kind of therapy and that all health plans would cover it. The savings in money and suffering would be staggering.

“I ended up ordering an Alpha-Stim SCS from Austin Biofeedback Center in Austin, TX on Friday, September 14th for my son, Gerald “Jason” Ellis who is currently serving in a rapid deployment unit with the Army 3rd ID in Iraq. Thank you for asking how he is doing. As far as I know, Jason is doing fine. He did receive the Alpha-Stim and has been using it as often as he can. At the time I sent the Alpha-Stim to him I was getting very worried about his mental health due to the tremendous amount of stress he was struggling to cope with on a never ending basis. Within one week of using the Alpha-Stim I could tell a difference in his tone of voice and attitude. His sense of humor began to return and he was once again beginning to dream about his future rather than dwell on the harsh reality of a fatigued soldier in combat. Since then, he has had the experience of having to live without it for approximately 2 weeks under stressful conditions and I could hear his anxiety levels increasing significantly during that time. I’m hoping by now he has been able to hook up and dump some of the anxiety that seems to be on overflow, but I haven’t heard from him yet.

The best assistance you could provide would be to convince the military to embrace this type of therapy for every soldier living in a war zone. Beginning with the combat units living in the neighborhoods of Baghdad as these soldiers are being challenged in ways the military has never challenged our brave soldiers before. I see the Alpha-Stim as a very small price to pay to help protect the mental health of our young men and women who are fighting so hard and living and working without the comforts of electricity most of the time, or water and sewage; just to mention a few things Americans take for granted. I am a 53-year old man with a history of anxiety and depression that I can trace back to being five years of age.
I have sought relief through treatment with psychiatrists and psychologists for the past fifteen years. I have been prescribed SSRI's, MAOI's, and tricyclics, all to no avail. Recently, I moved to Nevada, and as a lawyer, was required to take the Nevada Bar Exam. While studying, I fell into a major depressive episode accompanied by disabling anxiety.
